STW2...To little to late?

Well NTW has the benefit of being a stand alone, whereas BI required RTW. I played a few RTW games last night and I can't believe how many people still play that. More than M2TW anyway, which is a ghost town.

STW2...To little to late?

It is a valuable argument because the length of a tournament is directly related to how active people are. And those statistics also include SP. And I never said anything about the amount of ppl online, I said "But the 'activity' (or lack thereof) in these tournaments is just astonishing" So, ya.

STW2...To little to late?

Quoted from "RTKMercurius" Damn, YM, you're working very hard for a lame criticism of activity.... a whole month for registration at the beginning of a new release? New games generally have the MOST activity. Even in the sparsely populated world of TW there were clans ready to sign up before NTW launched. You can't wait for new clans to form...that's what season 2 is for. Quoted We're doing round 4 now, 3 week rounds... of 5 rounds, and in league format. So, you have 24 clans competing 3 months...

STW2...To little to late?

Now don't get me wrong, an active community will only benefit me when/if I return to Shogun, so I have no reason for discouraging its development (despite the fact that I am completely baffled as to why people play ETW). But the 'activity' (or lack thereof) in these tournaments is just astonishing. I concede this is an issue that has been going on forever, but look at this: Registration opened 02.13 and lasted until 03.15 or so. That is over a month to register teams. I have seen longer in the p...

STW2...To little to late?

If it wasn't for us trollers, there would be no posts. The forums are dead like MJ. Merely their plastic surgery remains. But I do have hopes for STW2 as delusional as they may be. I still like TW and I still like this community, but they really screwed the pooch with ETW. Don'tcha know that making your way in the world today takes everything you've got. Taking a break from all your worries, sure would help a lot. Wouldn't you like to get away? Sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your...

STW2...To little to late?

I speak to Milt periodically. He has been on MSN lately, and I even saw him on steam the other day, though he didn't reply to my message "What's up you hairy vagina"

Its coming gents, Shogun Total War II

Total War just means an entire nation's resource and such consumed by the war effort. I like the idea of scaling it back a bit as far as map size is concerned. ETW was excessive with two regions having to be on seperate zones etc. More does not always mean good. I actually prefer the old Risk-style map rather than armies marching about. Unit diversity will probably take a hit, though that might mean good things for balance. Unfortunately as we saw with ETW less units is also kind of boring. What...

I think I might try it anyway. The megalomaniac in me likes to appease my delusions of grandeur by simulated world conquest. AKA the single player.

Ya, I think Japan will be popular . . . the Japs have their own cultural invasion going on in the West. Think of all the homos watching Naruto that will be like...zomg, Japan! And the Japanese wannabees like Yosh. I think it will do well enough, though I lack any practical market research to confirm that

I concur, Merc. Some diversity would have been nice. I will be more inclined to play a melee game once more than the travesty of ETW/NTW.

So the question is: How much of that is lies? I believe CAs credibility has already been compromised after the release of ETW.

Time to say good bye.

IMO ETW bombing was the best thing that ever happened to me. I think I am in a similar position, though perhaps it is because I am no longer a student and don't have retarded amounts of times for this kind of stuff. Never say never, though, Nies. You'll be back some day. This community has a strange allure, and one day, when the stars align, CA will get their heads out of their asses and make a game that doesn't suck . . . like the good old days. Have fun away from cybercrack, Nies. I'm sure we'...

CCS League ?

lol, nies. go cry. Poland had maybe two good RTW clans back in the day. The emergence of 10 good Polish clans in M2TW made an impact, dontcha think?

CCS League ?

So I guess you can expect them to stop making patches for ETW...such a joke. I may never buy a CA game again because we were so utterly lied to, and the game was awful (IMHO). Before you yell at me, I concede that all video games depend on personal opinion. I guess Nies forgets that MTWII started to die very quick, and the lack of the old players gave rise to new polish clans (as Merc said). The game wasn't quite as dead as ETW is (imho), but it still lost 99% of the former MTW vets, and only ha...
