It is coming to that time for another Triad Tournament. I'd like to get the communities thoughts on where it should be held. There will be a prize for this tournament, as every tournament we hold. This time, it will be a custom T-Shirt (pic coming soon)!

i think a etw tourny would only work well if the lordz map pack was used, if not then.. probably say mtw2 or kingdoms (with stainsless steel mod maybe?) :x

There are some hurtles to having an ETW tournament, but I am sure we can find a way to overcome them to have a smooth gaming experience.

First, apologies for the delay in updates. With the release of the recent patch, the PDLC and the work that's currently going into the hotfix, it's been rather busy here. On that note the hotfix to fix the game crash caused by the asynchronous sound issue for a few of you is currently in beta testing and we hope to have it out shortly. we located and fixed a CTD on startup as a result of this and made improvements to the battle loading handling and have also identified an issue with battles causing de-synching

From the daily update blog

Also apparently the Lordz maps will work if all players have them. Its a matter of putting them in when you want to use them and taking them out to play with those without. This is a bit of a pain but not that hard really. Probably takes 20 seconds or less each time.

So a few hurdles removed. Though the Barbarian invasion idea seems to have a lot of merit. Would be good if BI claimed the greater percentage of Rome activity at some point. Still probably the best overall multiplayer experience of the CA releases IMHO. Funny thing is I never played it that much because no one ever seems to be on it. It needs its own separate lobby. Unless there is already and I don't know about it. :candle:

The acceptance of BI in the lobby is < 1% and even that is optimistic. There are even more people online who play n2tw. Nevertheless many people have it and like to play it but you either have to arrange matches via messenger or set up a tourney to encourage people to play it for a while.

The sooner the crashes fix the better, I may be able to start the tourney a bit earlier :P

no no no no no....

there is about 15-20 of us ready to play BI right now.... at this very moment.

We are even going to move from RTW to BI... so that is very untrue...

what I meant was that no games were up there if people hadnt arranged something in forehand. I know that a lot of people like to play it but regulary log on RTW and dont bother to host on BI, advertise and wait. this was at least the case till 2 weeks ago. if the situation has changed I (and I would guess many more) would really appreciate it because BI is great.

Medieval 2 Stainless Steel???

A lot seem to like this and it actually gets played in the lobby without any tourney support.

Although this poll is open until the end of the month, the Triad team will be making its final decision on which game the next tournament will be placed in on the 15th of July. If you haven't voted yet, do it now!!

The polls say it all, the people want an Empire Total War tournament, and so the people will get an ETW tournament.

The rule set for this tournament will be released by the end of this month, as well as (hopefully) and image of the prize!

Once the rules are posted, player entries will be taken, so do not register on our site so quickly ^^
